As we know, one of Indonesian private airline have 2 massive order at Boeing and Airbus, both combined totalled at 46.4 Billion US Dollars. That's 567.008.000.000.000 in Indonesian Rupiah. The Problem is, 46.4 Billion USD is about 1/5 of our Yearly National Budget..
How does one get that much monies?
Especially just about 10 years ago Lion Air was using these to fly people:
It's crazy how fast Lion Air has grow in the past 10 years. I might do a piece on Lion Air someday, anyone interested?

They get the money because they don't pay for the whole plane up front. The cost is spread out.
1/5th of your national budget over 15 years is only 1.3% per year. During that time, those planes are being used to make money . So if the planes pay for themselves halfway through, you're really only spending < 0.7% of the total potential budget on airlines. A slight raise in taxes could cover that entire cost.

After the most recent G20 summit, and due to the amount of worldwide debt that has been bought by Chinese finance companies, all currency in banks is now referred to as spent capital. This still confuses me and I have no idea how to explain it. But yet even though I have no debt, I still am in debt. And that I find to be bullshit.

That's quite an explanation.
But nope, Lion was privately owned by a chap called Rusdi Kirana. Think about him is like Tony Fernandes, only much thinner.

So with the order they would have to put some money down and pay some money as the aircraft are being built. But almost all go out and get a loan or have a lessor buy the plane and lease it back from them with a long term commitment.
Steven Udvar-Hazy made a boat load of income borrowing money, buying airplanes, and then leasing them to airlines. All kinds of airlines. He made so much money leasing aircraft he felt compelled to give back and funded one of the coolest aircraft museums for a country that certainly could afford it without him.
